The Executive MBA program is designed for students who have significant experience in their career and have a solid foundation of real-world business knowledge upon which to build.

The value of the Executive MBA is that it further develops leadership skills by focusing on strategy, decision-making, and relationships between business functional areas. UTA Executive MBA participants learn cutting-edge, high-level business models, concepts, and procedures they can begin applying immediately. This knowledge is enhanced through team-based deliverables and collaborative projects with fellow classmates. A typical UTA Executive MBA student has an average of 16 years of work experience and an average of 10 years of leadership or management experience.

The UTA Executive MBA program is designed around an intimate cohort model.  As a participant in the program you will work, study, and learn as a member of a collaborative cohort of successful experienced professionals who are driving growth and change within their organizations and industries.

This is the cornerstone of the program with each member of the cohort contributing their own unique skills and experience to the discussion.  In doing so they learn through exposure to perspectives and insights from a broad variety of industries and functional specialties and contribute their experience to the learning or others.   Learning in a cohort magnifies the knowledge and skills of the individual into a powerful community of learners.

The Typical Executive MBA cohort consists of a talented group of leaders and professionals from a broad selection of industries and who bring experience from a wide variety of professional specialties.

–           Average age: 36 – 38 years old

–           Average years of professional experience: 14-16 years

Executive MBA participants pursue their degree while simultaneously maintaining their full-time careers.   As a result, they can immediately apply what they learn over the weekend on Monday morning.  This immediate return on investment makes the Executive MBA extraordinarily valuable for program participants.

Whether you want to advance in your current industry, shift roles, or build a new business, UTA’s Executive MBA Program can help you achieve your goals beginning on day one.

In our most recent UTA Executive MBA survey, the advantages speak for themselves in terms of return on investment:

  • UTA Executive MBA students had an average 24.6% salary increase, compared with 16.8% nationwide, and realized their ROI in only 2.46 years compared to 2.97 years nationwide.
  • 85% of graduates stated effectiveness in their current position increased because of their Executive MBA.
  • 75% of graduates also felt their ability to be promoted was increased because of their Executive MBA.
  • 95% of graduates stated the program met or exceeded their expectations.

The Executive MBA program offers great value and is very affordable compare to other AACSB-accredited programs.

Executive MBA vs MBA: Learn the Difference

There are hundreds of accredited MBA programs in the United States. So, how do you choose whether to pursue a standard MBA program or an Executive MBA, and what is the difference between them?

What is an Executive MBA?

The major difference between a regular MBA and Executive MBA is their purpose, audience, and delivery format. Unlike a standard MBA program, which may be open to recent graduates, Executive MBAs are designed for professionals with extensive work experience. Generally, Executive MBA candidates are managers with at least 10 to 15 years of work experience. Because of this, admission requirements for Executive MBA programs will usually prioritize previous work experience and letters of recommendation over standardized entrance scores.

Why Choose Texas for Your Executive MBA?

Whether you currently live there or are looking at relocating, Texas is an excellent state for those considering an Executive MBA program. The state boasts a number of accredited, high-quality Executive MBA programs that represent excellent value for those who’ve chosen to pursue the graduate degree.

Our Ranking Methodology

To determine how to rank each college, we researched and evaluated each school’s estimated total cost of tuition and program length. We used in-state tuition rates where available. We sorted each school first by the cost of tuition (lower is better) and then by program length (shorter is better), letting each value make up equal portions (50%) of the final rankings. Where schools were tied in the rankings, we gave additional weight to cost of tuition. For even more schools, check out our MBA online degrees.

If you work for one of the schools we ranked and you notice an error in the information we used to rank you, please feel free to contact us and let us know so we can make a correction.

The UTSA EMBA program is taught as a cohort, meaning you start and finish the program with the same participant group.

Do I Qualify for the EMBA?

You do not need a c-suite title to participate in the EMBA program. Our successful applicants demonstrate a strong work ethic, have eight or more years of professional experience and have demonstrated increasing responsibility in their roles. If you are an aspiring professional looking to become an inspiring leader, or a current leader looking to build your business knowledge, the EMBA program may be a great fit for you.

What Does the Program Cost?

An EMBA program is an important investment for you and your future. The program cost is $65,000 for Texas residents and $79,500 for non-residents. As you may fund the program through a combination of sources including personal funds and corporate reimbursements, we encourage you to learn more about available financing options. Federal student loans are available, and the program also qualifies for the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the Hazlewood Exemption.

Attend an Information Session

Please note: Due to the format of our program, we are unable to accommodate transfer students, and you must be prepared to start in August.

The EMBA program ranked No. 9 out of 91 programs in CEO Magazine’s 2021 Global MBA Rankings.

Our EMBA program is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which places our college in the top 5% of business schools worldwide.
