Hmmm interesting.

You know your car has an I4 (inline 4), not a V4, right?

So we&#;re building a track car, as you may have seen in part 1 of our build. This week we made some progress in the area of &#;stance&#; &#; a term we&#;re using to describe the looks and attitude of the car.

The track car you will see coming to life on your screen is a combination of parts sourced from two other &#;donor&#; Miatas, as well as new parts. One of the two Miata &#;donors&#; was a nicely prepped but poorly powered track car, and the other was a well powered but &#;pretty much crappy everything else&#; car &#; including a &#;stanced out&#; appearance. While loads of negative camber and unintended rubbing may sound interesting to some, it&#;s a classic example of how too much of a good thing can be really bad.

So in Part 1 we dissected the cars, gathering the best components from each and putting everything back together in the chassis / body that was the best candidate for new paint. Once we had all the goods (drivetrain, suspension, braking, safety equipment) in one chassis / body &#; we moved on to getting it to look the way we wanted it to. As we mentioned in Part 1, we wanted to paint it Laguna Seca blue &#; mainly because it&#;s the best color in the world. To match the bright blue color, we went with black Advanti Storm S1 wheels in 15&#;9 dimension wrapped in Nitto NT01 tires. A local shop helped us with fender rolling, tire mounting / balancing, and an aggressive track-oriented alignment.

After our fenders had been modified to fit the wheels and tires, we took the car to paint &#; where our local paint guy helped with prep and shooting the Laguna Seca Blue on. We&#;re really happy with the results, the LSB is a very dynamic color &#; it appears much lighter in sunlight and darker in shade and fits the Miata quite well.

Up next, we&#;ll be finishing up the car with some final interior and exterior modifications and give you a detailed run of the parts and our review of the components.

Default Mazda Miata - A '99 Roadster (nontraditional) build

After thinking about it for a few minutes, I finally made a Stance Works account. Maybe here all my Miata lows will be appreciated more.

To start off, this is most likely going to be one of the slower builds as dat college budget sucks. Located in central FLA; since I was maybe 12 years old I knew that I wanted a Miata. I would read amazing things about them, the 50/50 weight distribution, nice rev-happy engine, and how it could eat up Vipers and such high-end cars at the track. Plus, you get all of that under 5 grand. The aftermarket support for these cars is immense, I was just in love with the Miata(shit, it's already turning gay) and the thought of owning one.

Come March '12, I purchased this Miata, Touring edition. Leather seats, cruise control, Nardi steering wheel, and Torsen LSD. The previous owners had went ahead and fitted some 17's on it, too(MB Five-X, Discount Tire specials).

A month later, coilovers were ordered and the rear spoiler came off. I went with the Rokkor coilovers as I heard they're good for the lows(I won't be tracking this car) and daily driving. Plus the Rokkors supposedly have higher spring rates closer to Megans. At this height the car makes the wheels look a lot better on it.

Couple of months later, after a lot of research, I found the best wheels and tires for my budget in terms of size, weight, and color. I got 15x8 +25 Konig WideOpens in Bronze with /50/15 Yokohama S. Drives wrapped all around.

    Moderately Slammed

This is the ride height I ultimately settled on. Lowered, tucking a bit of tire, but still "comfortable" to drive. I loved this stage in the beginning, but three months down the road it got a bit boring. I wanted a more aggressive, street look.

Since you said nontraditional I thought it would be a battle stanced NB miata. It looks an awful lot like shumais car as it sits now.

Nice NB though, I like the simple look to it, real clean.

    What old thing?

How did you push the dent out and not have it crack the paint on the bumper?

I just edited the post and added a pic of the spoiler.

It does have a couple of lines where the paint cracked but it's barely noticeable.

Good choice on removing it. The clear coat on that is fucked and it didn't match the car well.

Same with the old wheels, they were huge on that car hahaha.

Are you from east Orlando? Those houses look familiar. I'm a pizza driver so I see those houses all the time.
