Amazon is starting Black Friday deals early. Like, now

Amazon has begun rolling out "Black Friday-worthy deals" to jumpstart the holiday shopping season that's expected to be chaotic because of shipping and supply chain issues. Amazon announced Monday "deep discounts across every category" including fashion, home goods, toys and electronics that will be available on a special webpage.
Popular brands, such as Apple(AAPL), KitchenAid and Hasbro(HAS), will also be discounted on "select days" in October and November. New deals will also be added every day throughout the next two months.
Amazon(AMZN) is also adding a new tool for US-based Prime members that shop on its app. They can now send a gift without knowing the recipient's address. Instead, they can enter the person's mobile number or email address and they will be alerted of the purchase or given the option of exchanging it for an Amazon gift card without letting the sender know.
Target(TGT) announced last week that it's also getting a headstart on the shopping season earlier than ever. It's bringing back "Deal Days" on October 10 for three days that includes "savings on thousands of items" and will be available in-stores and online.
Customers should expect a stressful shopping season. Surging demand coupled with shipping container shortages and bottlenecks at ports have already triggered tighter supply of products, from cars to shoes. There's also factory closures in Vietnam because of Covid that forced brands from PacSun to Nike to warn about the effects on their supply.
In the United States, the US Postal Service increased prices for the peak holiday shopping season because of more people shopping online. FedEx(FDX) is also adding a fuel surcharge on certain shipments, including FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and FedEx Freight shipments, beginning on November 1.

Complicating the holiday shopping season this year is that the fact that America's shipping infrastructure is beyond stressed. The Port of Los Angeles is working through a record backlog, according to CBS News, and trucking companies are facing shortages of workers. Isaac Larian, the president of MGA Entertainment (L.O.L. Surprise! dolls), warns that supply chain problems could lead to bare toy store shelves. "My advice to parents is don't wait," he told CBS News.

To get your holiday toy shopping off to an early start, we've compiled a list of some of our favorite items on the Amazon Toys We Love List. Included are great gifts for younger kids, kids interested in STEM, kids who love to play pretend and even little ones who like to get dirty in the sandbox.

If you've got a young Star Wars fan on your shopping list, here's one toy you don't want to miss: Snackin' Grogu. Kids can feed this 9-inch Baby Yoda one of the four included menu items, and he'll react with sound and motion depending on how tasty -- or gross -- the food is. For ages 4 and up.

An educational gift that promotes an early love of science, the National Geographic Earth Science Kit includes 15 science experiences -- such as water tornadoes, building an erupting volcano, growing a crystal and two geologic dig kits -- sure to keep kids 8 and up entertained for hours on end.

This imagination-stimulating Disney dress-up trunk, an Amazon exclusive, includes three dresses (Cinderella's, Aurora's and Belle's/Snow White's), three bracelets, three rings, three headbands, a necklace, a choker, soft goods tiara and stickers. Fits sizes 4 to 6 (for ages 3 to 6).

One of the most buzzed about toys of the year, the Got2Glow Fairy Finder, available in pink and blue, is a jar designed to search for virtual fairies. Once caught, fairies function as digital pets. Amazon’s new Echo Buds are launching in the UK (and cheaper for Prime Members)

Amazon’s second-generation Echo Buds (aka the Echo Buds 2) now have an official UK release date and price following their launch in the US earlier this year.

Hitting UK shelves on 10th November, the Echo Buds 2 can be pre-ordered at a special launch price of £80 for Prime members, a saving £30 over the regular £ RRP. The accompanying wireless charging model can be snapped up for £ by Prime members – another decent saving on the regular sticker price of £

While we weren’t too impressed with the original Echo Buds in our review (mostly due to their inconsistent sound and fiddly touch controls), the Echo Buds 2 promise to bring new features and improvements to the table that could warrant a potential purchase if the reality matches Amazon’s claims.

For starters, the Echo Buds are now 20 per cent smaller for a more comfortable fit, with active noise cancellation (ANC) now available to better block out the external environment. Hands-free Alexa voice control is naturally included too, allowing users to fire up playlists, make calls and more, using nothing but their voice.

Available in black or white, the Echo Buds 2 serve up five hours of playback per charge with ANC on, while the charging case provides two additional charges for a total of up to 15 hours of use. A minute quick charge feature also provides two hours of use if you’re in a hurry, while new LED lights handily show your charging status at a glance.

Customers who pre-order will also receive six months of Amazon Music Unlimited for free, though you won’t be able to take advantage of that if you are, or previously have been, an Amazon Music Unlimited subscriber.
