This Speedmaster LowRise manifold is designed to fit engine swaps using the 1996 and later Vortec (Gen 1+) cast iron heads or the Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum heads. These cylinder heads are very popular in street rods, engine swaps, or the industrial market. This manifold can be used on any Chevy V-8 engine utilizing the late Vortec head.

The Speedmaster LowRise Manifolds are our lowest profile manifold and is also the only one that is street legal on pollution controlled vehicles. It is set up to accept a spread bore carb but comes with an adapter plate that permits the use of square bore carbs. To remain street legal with a square bore carb, you must use one that is also approved as street legal for your application.

Installation Tips

This manifold has provision for external water bypass. It also features four corner water outlets, dual distributor holddowns, includes a square bore carb adapter and gasket, and will work with a late model style water neck, alternator, HEI, and air conditioning brackets. Will also fit 1996 and later Vortec engines with some minor modifications. The modification is not to the manifold itself. It just requires running a short section of heater hose from the pipe tapped hole in the front of the manifold to the 5/8" hose nipple on passenger's side of the water pump.

The 1966 and later Vortec blocks do not have a water bypass in the block and this hose takes care of that issue.

Performer RPM are dual-plane, high-rise intakes with 180° firing order to produce incredible top-end horsepower while retaining good throttle response. Their larger plenums and runners match the free-flowing exhaust, high-lift cams and other modifications of a high output engine. They are intended for high-performance street or competition engines that run up to 6500 rpm. They are not for emissions equipped engines. Edelbrock's Performer RPM gives you the ultimate in street high-performance.

Edelbrock part #2116 Performer intake manifold is based on the popular and powerful Edelbrock #2101, this dual-plane intake is designed for the street rod, industrial and engine swap market utilizing 262-400 c.i.d. Chevy V8's with 1996 and later Vortec (L31) cast iron or the Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum heads. Edelbrock's Patented Dual-plane, low-rise design with a 180-degree firing order greatly improves torque over a wide rpm range for excellent throttle response from off-idle through 5500rpm. Manifold has provisions for external water bypass and may be used on either Vortec blocks or 1995 and earlier blocks. No provision for exhaust heated chokes.

These intakes are produced from steel molds to reduce core shift, have all the major features found on the expensive ones such as 4 corner water outlets and nitrous bosses, and the best part - the price!

Intake works with small blocks with '96+ Vortec heads. For use with square bore style carbs. Provides standard bosses and tapped holes for street accessories such as A/C and alternator brackets. No provision for manual choke or exhaust crossover and are not EGR equipped.
