Bellevue, IowaDoes anyone make a bracket to mount front weights on a 3 pt? I have lots of front weights in a pile and I need more weight on my 8330.

Nice!

Sunnyside, WABring a weight to a good welding shop and they should be able to make you one. One holds 40 weights and the other is a little over a yard of concrete. Have one more that holds 32 weights.

Do they make a bigger/heavier duty model?

Adding 500 lbs to the back of a farm tractor ain't exactly a lot of weight.

It isn't that hard to take a weight bracket for the front of a tractor and start welding some metal together to put it on the 3pt.   I've got a Massey bracket that fits on a quick hitch that holds 1600 lbs of Massey suitcase weights.

Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WASo... you going to sell that concrete weight when you get a 4wd pack tractor? How is the tractor search going anyway?

Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463K & M, the Tractor Seat People who also have a line of Rock Boxes have a Rock Box on a 3-point carrier.
It would hold a bunch of front weights.

I have several of the smaller K & M rock boxes and have put a full rack of weights in one at a time. Lots of room left over.

Pretty sure this deal is the larger box.

Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463First - A given amout of weight hanging back on the 3-point will put more weight on the rear axle, than the same amout of weight bolted to the wheels.

Say you put 1000# on a 3-point carrier. The center of gaviaty of that carrier will be 3 - 4 feet or so behind the axle.
The increase in weight will be quite a bit more than 1000#.

But the weight has to come from someplace - The front axle will be carring less weight.

Find a Nebraska test. At the bottom is how the tractor is weighted.
Find one that the only weight added was front weight, you may have to look a while.

Without any added weight, the rear axle will weight so much.

Add weight only to the carrier on the front end, and the rear axle weight will be some less than before.
Even thou the total tractor weight is greater.
And the front axle weight will have increased more than the weight added.

The second thing - putting a weight deal on the 3-point can make it harder to hookup hydraulic hoses.
Probably close to 30 years ago I decided that unless I had the 6 bottom 20" plow hooked on my White 2-155 those front weights were doing more harm than good. So I took them off. And I was right.

Then I made a deal to bolt the front weights on the 3-point.
Worked great. You can really tell it is there. But the hoses are hard to get too.

I have wanted to make a seperate deal on the back to hook up the hoses. Never got it done.

Picure is a nice looking 4020 Powershift for sale at John Deere in Pender Nebraska.
Don't know the price, but if you are looking for a nice 4020 just to have - I would be making a call to NE Nebraska.

Woodham, OntarioDairy farm nearby made some brackets to mount a concrete block on a STX385 without a hitch. Just needs to be lifted on with a payloader.

Sunnyside, WAGerard,

If you ever get a chance to take some pictures of that I would be interested.

Sunnyside, WAOnce I found out I would need a 9X20 series powershift and then priced blades (Degelman and Grouser) I got sticker shock.

That concrete block is pretty cheap to make. But could be expensive to buy!

I made this one several years ago using the weight bracket off our 706 and part of an old IH cultivator toolbar.

I took a 3pt bale fork and modified it to hold suit case weights for our 2040 loader tractor.  Welded a piece of rectangler tubing to space it out from the bale fork and then welded a plate on the back of that, which we slide the weights on.  The bale fork acts as a stand for when its not on the tractor.  Hopefully the pictures show up.

Woodham, Ontario

This the best I can do right now. It hangs on some hooks on the back and hooks into the drawbar.

Is a Grouser significantly more money than a Degelman?

Brazilton KS

Caution?   What, are they afraid someone will try to lift it and hurt their back?  lol

Needs one of these.

Sunnyside, WADepends what you want for a blade. A Degelman 7900 high lift 6 way is about the same money as a Grouser 6 way. 4 way to 6 way is not much money. If you want to go with a 7200 Degelman than it is quite a bit cheaper than the Grouser, but you are not comparing apples to apples.

Chilliwack BCWe made this one and use in on our Maxxum 125 for pushing silage. We guessed that it holds 3500 lbs when full.
